This sources sought synopsis does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, invitation for bid, nor does its issuance in any way restrict the Government as to its ultimate acquisition approach. The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is conducting market research to seek sources and to gain knowledge of available production facilities that may be of interest to the USCG. The purpose of this sources sought is to gain knowledge of commercially available products that may be of interest to the USCG. The USCG is looking for companies capable of providing Type VII (Starch-g-acrylic) dry stripping blast media that meets or exceeds the requirement of Military Specification (Mil-Spec) MIL-P-85891A “Plastic Media for Removal of Organic Coatings”. The proposed North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the future acquisition is 327910, Abrasive Product Manufacturing. The size of business pursuant to NAICS is 750 employees. SOURCES SOUGHT RESPONSES: Responses to this notice should include Company Name, Address, Telephone Number, Point of Contact (POC), and Cage Code. All Contractors, qualified to provide Type VII (Starch-g-acrylic) dry stripping blast media and recycling, should submit a response presenting sufficient information to substantiate that: The Contractor has abrasive material e-Strip® GPX starch graft acrylic copolymer which meets or exceeds Mil Spec MIL-P-85891(series), Type VII. Can the Contracting Company provide a letter from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) stating there is a traceability to the OEM to ensure the media is suitable for use on the USCG aircraft? Does the Contracting Company have a GSA schedule, if so what schedule number? Can the Contracting Company ship the GPX starch media in lined and sealed containers to prevent contact with moisture? Provide any additional comments/information you may have regarding this sources sought notice. After the review of the responses to this sources sought announcement, and if the USCG still plans to proceed with the acquisition, a solicitation announcement will be published on the Contract Opportunities website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not an adequate response to any future solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation in addition to responding to this sources sought synopsis. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are NOT a request to be added to a prospective offerors list or to receive a copy of the solicitation.
