Request for Information (RFI) - Special Purpose Craft – Ice Rescue Transport (SPC-IRT II) Second Generation
The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking information on existing or adaptable designs for a second-generation Special Purpose Craft – Ice Rescue Transport (SPC-IRT II) for multi-mission operations in the Great Lakes, including search and rescue, law enforcement, and living marine resources missions. The boat must transit over water, ice, grass, dirt, snow, or land for at least 1,000 yards without hull damage, and enter/depart water from land at angles up to 20 degrees with six people onboard. Responses will help refine requirements before a future Request for Quotation, with a focus on delivery of two boats prior to the end of November 2026. No budget amounts are specified in this RFI. The location for performance is the vicinity of the Great Lakes.
