Special Notice #5 / Track 1 Qualification Window for TYPE 1 and TYPE 2 EDS Notice 70T04019R9CAP1086 provides an overview of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Qualification Process for Explosive Detection Systems (EDS). On April 30, 2019, EDS Functional Category Type II (FC2) (Stand-Alone and Mini-In-Line EDS) / Track 0 (Functional Requirements Document (FRD) v4.0) / Window 1 was opened and closed on October 2, 2019. On July 02, 2021, Special Notice #3 was posted announcing an industry day for EDS Track 1 FC Type I (FC1) and FC Type II (FC2). This Special Notice #5 is provided as an update to the Track 1 FC1 and FC2 Industry Day. As a result of funding and resource constraints, TSA will not be opening a window for Track 1 FC1 or FC2 in the near future. The current Electronic Baggage Screening Program will be transitioning to a new program that will provide the next checked baggage mission space qualification opportunities at a later date. Please monitor sam.gov for future EDS opportunities. Thank you to all of those who has expressed interest, provided feedback, and participated in the Track 1 FC1 and FC2 Industry Day. Special Notice #4 / Third e-Industry Day - Questions and Answers TSA hosted a Third e-Industry Day on August 2, 2021 for the Electronic Baggage Screening Program (EBSP) Explosive Detection Systems (EDS) Competitive Procurement 2 (CP2) Qualification Product List (QPL) for EDS Functional Categories Type I (FC1) and Type II (FC2). Attachment #4 includes all questions and answers that resulted from that e-Industry Day. No additional questions will be answered/posted as a result of the industry day.
