The U.S. Citizen Immigration Services (USCIS) Office of Information Technology (OIT) has requirement for a new generation of mobile computers with integrated bar code readers for the RAILS (formerly NFTS) program. The product previously used for this application was the Motorola/Zebra WAP 4 using the Microsoft Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 OS. This OS is no longer supported, and the hardware previously used is no longer being manufactured. USCIS has developed functional specifications for development of a new generation of RAILS mobile computers with integrated bar code readers and is seeking details on potential products that would be available to support it.
