UAS Kinetic Mitigation Capabilities and Response for the DHS Science and Technology Directorate
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is seeking industry input on kinetic mitigation capabilities, including GNSS denial, for countering small unmanned aerial systems. A kinetic mitigation demonstration is scheduled for November 2026, focusing on Group 1 and Group 2 UASs. The effort aims to assess capabilities such as projectile, laser, and electromagnetic pulse systems while minimizing collateral effects. Scenarios will reflect four DHS mission areas, evaluating risks like falling debris, electromagnetic damage, and risks to populations. No budget amount or performance location is specified.
