FEMA seeks owners of multi-family rental properties (apartment complexes primarily) in Fayette, Franklin, Henry, or Wayne counties, Indiana, or within a 30- to 60-minute commute of the disaster-affected areas. Properties must have been previously used as multi-family housing with three or more rental units, be able to accommodate many people in one location, not be in a flood zone, and be repairable within four months. Selected properties would be offered as temporary housing for FEMA applicants for up to 18 months from the declaration date unless extended. There is no rental cost to eligible applicants; State/FEMA funds repairs, with repair value deducted from the lease agreement with the property owner.
