As the FEMA staff returns to the office full time, FEMA is required to provide a well-lit office that meets both energy and OSHA requirements QUESTIONS DUE: August 14th 5pm EST Item Specs: 22-OVHP-LED is 2x2 24-OVHP-LED is 2x4 Q&A: Q: Where are the circuit breakers for lights located? A: Located in 2 locations. Janitorial closet in the front of the office and the mechanical room located on the side of building new generator, only entrance is outside. Q: What are security lights? A: These are the lights that stay on all the time, light fixtures remain the same. Qty 4 4x2 and Qty 2 2x2 Q: Who will handle the relocation of desks and equipment? A: FEMA IT and Logistics will handle the relocation of desks and equipment to ensure the contractor has access to the light fixtures. Q: Can FEMA provide on number of dimmers required and where they will be placed? A: All Conference rooms are required to have dimmers. Q: Does FEMA want occupancy sensors, and if so, where will they be located? Quantity? A: All conference rooms are required to have. Q: What will be required in each conference room and which conference room? A: Lights/ Occupancy sensors/ dimmers Q: Are we matching the existing dimmers and if so, which ones? A: We are not matching anything. We have to install new ones in conference rooms. Q: Does the conference rooms have dimmers in them, and if so, which conference rooms(s)? A: None of the conference rooms have dimmers. Q: Is it possible to know how many LED lights you need/are left to change? A: Floor plan with the LED lights that needs to be changed has been provided Q: Is this being done during normal business hours? What hours? A:See attached SOW section 4.4 Hours of Operation for specific details. Q: Does the server room need to be changed out? A: It is part of the scope. Q: Conference room (CR2) looks like mercury vapor metal halos – are we changing those out as well? A: All lights shown on the floor plan are part of the scope. Q: Conference room (JF01) in the back – are we changing those too? A: All lights shown on the floor plan are part of the scope. Notes: The only conference rooms left to upgraded to LED are JFO1 and CR2 (the two rooms in the front have the 2x2 and recess lighting). The lights that were installed, have a switch or some that you can select a setting on the fixture, all the lights are on the lower setting. Q. Can you please confirm the total overhead light count that is to be replaced by referencing it on the provided ceiling plan (either by circling or highlighting the remaining to be updated) ? A. Please reference attachment, titled, “FEMA C-54, Floor Plan,” for full counts. Quantity is at the bottom for all needed 2x2’s and 2x4’s, as well as flood and singles. Q. During site visit, COR pointed out that some of the building overhead lighting was replaced with LED (mainly 2x4), were 2x2 lighting fixtures also updated to LED ? A: No, none. Q: For the new LED replacements are you requiring the Electrical Contractor (EC) to replace the Fluorescent 2x4's and 2x2's to match the newer LED 2x4's and 2x2s that were replaced or are the new LED fixtures TBD by EC ? A: Must be new LED, but it does not have to match existing. Will leave up to EC to determine. Q: If you are requiring the new 2x4's and 2x2's to match the existing LED fixtures, can you please provide the spec sheet or make and model for the LED's already in place ? A: 22-OVHP-LED is 2x2, 24-OVHP-LED is 2x4 Q: After removing some ceiling tiles, we verified that existing and newer LED light fixtures were secured to the ceiling grid and NOT to framing members or actual ceiling. NEC Article 410.36 allows light fixtures to be supported by ceiling grid with proper fasteners in commercial suspended ceiling grid. The existing lay-in ceiling lights are NEC Code Compliant. 1a. For the new fixtures to be installed we want to confirm the method of securing them: 1b. Are we supporting / securing the new ceiling lights to the existing ceiling grid ? OR 1c. Are we supporting / securing the new ceiling lights to the actual Concrete ceiling above the ceiling grid ? OR 1d. Are we supporting / securing the new ceiling lights to the metal truss system / overhead metal framing members ? A: Please match the existing layout. Q. Do the new light fixtures need dimming capability ? A. Dimmers only for conference rooms. Q. Is there a wattage requirement for the new fixtures ? A. Please match existing. Q: What are the amount of LED lights that needs to be replaced?
