The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) currently deploys several communications capabilities in response to declared emergencies. One of our programs uses MSAT G2 terminals over the Ligado Network. This program provides a commercial satellite based subscription service for two-way, push-to-talk, dispatch radio, SMART talk groups, and voice telephony service for use by FEMA emergency responders. The service supports FEMA disaster response and recovery efforts and the continuity of operations (COOP) program nationwide.
