This is accomplished during an 8-hour training day, to include classroom exercises, mat room training of approved hands-on defensive tactics and less lethal devices and tactics as well as the actual firing of the weapons and less lethal devices on approved courses of fire. Operational tempo and workload demand of headquarter personnel in the national capitol region (NCR) restrict agents’ ability to attend Use of Force training more than 1 day per quarter. This enforces the need for a facility that is capable of meeting all of our Use of Force training mandates, in the same location, and on the same day.
