This is a notice of intent to proceed with a sole source requirement beneath the simplified acquisition threshold for commercial items. The contractor is TEK84, Incorporated located in Poway, CA. The contractor will be responsible for providing one Intercept Contraband Detector to the Miami International Airport. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with TEK84 under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.5(a). The TEK84 Intercept is the only product identified by market research that can meet the site constraints and maintenance requirements. This notice is being provided per FAR 5.101(a)(1), 5.201(b)(1)(i), and 5.207. Vendors that believe they can meet the requirements for this acquisition (attached) or in the future may respond to this notice. The response should contain a brief description of the vendor's capability. Please also include the size of your business (large or small) and recent examples of similar work. Any vendor who wishes to submit information for this requirement should email their information to the attention of Nathan Briggs at nathan.p.briggs@cbp.dhs.gov. To receive consideration, submissions must be received no later than 4:00 pm ET, September 10, 2019. Only email submissions will be accepted.
