The National Toxicology Program (DNTP) is applying novel tools in an integrated fashion to identify and understand potential environmental contributors to contemporary and common diseases. For this purpose, they will utilize novel in vitro microphysiological systems that recapitulate human biology and improve prediction of adverse health outcomes. Microphysiological systems or tissue chips perform specific functions of human organs outside the human body in a laboratory setting to create a miniaturized human test system for environmental chemical testing. Acquiring these tissue-chips will enhance research capabilities and prediction of toxicological outcomes associated with environmental chemical exposures. Acquisition of these tissue-chips will help advance the field of environmental chemicals hazard assessment providing better estimation of toxicology outcomes on public health. The applicable North American industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 325414 “Biological Product (Except Diagnostic) Manufacturing).” Its associated Business Size Standard is 1,250 EM. NIEHS will solicit and negotiate directly with Emulate, and no solicitation will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotations; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency. Offerors must have an active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM.GOV) www.sam.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
