This contract action is for the acquisition of supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1). The National Institute of Environmental Health Science (NIEHS), Office of Acquisitions (OA) intends to award a single source purchase order to Thermo Electron America, LLC, 1400 Northpoint Pkwy/STE. 50, West Palm Beach, FL. 33407-1976. The maintenance contract renewal from Thermo Electron North America, LLC, is required to provide service, all labor, material and equipment required to maintain and provide preventive maintenance for a Thermo Electron LTQ XL ULTIMATE 3000 System, (Liquid Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer System), located at the NIEHS, RTP, NC 27709. Contractor shall perform one (1) preventive maintenance inspection (PMI) during the contract period. Service shall consist of as thorough cleaning, calibration, adjusting, inspection, lubrication, and testing of all equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s lasts established service procedures. All equipment shall be operationally tested through at least one (1) complete operating cycle at the end of the preventive maintenance inspection to assure optimum and efficient performance. This maintenance contract will allow consistent, accurate and uninterrupted performance of the equipment. Thermo Electron Corporation is the manufacturer of this equipment and does not allow third party entities to service their equipment.
