This contract action is for the acquisition of supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1). The National Institute of Environmental Health Science (NIEHS), Office of Acquisitions (OA) intends to award a single source purchase order to Miltenyi Biotec, Inc., 2303 Lindbergh Street, Auburn, CA 95602, for the acquisition of a Miltenyi gentleMACS Octo Dissociator with Heaters. The Miltenyi gentleMACS Octo Dissociator with Heaters is a benchtop instrument for the automated dissociation of tissues to generate single cell suspensions or tissue homogenization. This instrument is required for animal experiments in the Molecular Pathology Group in the CMPB, at the National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences. The applicable North American industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this procurement is 334516 “Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing.” Its associated Business Size Standard is $1,000.00. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotations; however, all responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Offerors must have an active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) www.sam.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
