The Whiteriver Service Unit's (WRSU) Post-Graduate Year 1 pharmacy residency has been accredited with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) since 1989. Since then, WRSU has expanded to include an accredited Post-Graduate Year 2 ambulatory care residency from the same accrediting body. ASHP is the only accrediting body for pharmacy residency programs and has established criteria for residency programs. These criteria are centered around building off upon Doctor of Pharmacy education and outcomes to contribute to the development f clinical pharmacists.
