BACKGROUND INFORMATION The Phoenix Area Office requires dental training for dental assistants to increase clinical productivity and access to care. There are (16) dental programs within the Phoenix Area with over 200 dental assistants. In a recent survey sent out to clinics, it was determined that Phoenix Area dental programs are in need of Restorative Expanded Function courses for dental assistants. The training course has to be approved by the IHS Division of Oral Health for continuing education credits and certification for the participants to utilize their new skills in the clinical setting. B. PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE OF THE PROCUREMENT The purpose of this procurement is to secure the services of up to one (1) dentist educator for the specific IHS continuing dental education courses “Basic Restorative Expanded Functions” and “Advanced Restorative Expanded Functions” (EFDA) for dental assistants.
