This acquisition will be made in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 “Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and solicitation for commercial Items,” as applicable, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation (a written solicitation will not be issued) and quotes are being requested. The Solicitation number is RFQ-NIAID-2138677 and the solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ). This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2022-07, Effective 08/10/2022. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 112990, All other Animal production, with a small business size standard of $2.5 Million. The requirement is being competed full and open, and without a small business set-aside. The National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases is seeking backcrossed mice. We need to backcross Rorc-Cre - transgenic mice express cre recombinase under the control of the mouse Rorc to NOD background. At the time the animals are congenic to B6 genetic background, after backcross, animals will be congenic to NOD genetic background. After approximately 3-5 generations, they will perform PCR genotyping of offspring pups. Upon PCR confirmation, 10 heterozygous samples (per generation) will be submitted for SNP analysis to select the highest-percentage breeders for the next generation. After completion of the backcross, all animals will be shipped to 14BS, Bethesda, MD 20892.
