Document Type: Combined Synopsis/Solicitation Solicitation Number: RFQ-NIAID-2062059 Description: KSEP CHAMBER SET, LUBE KIT, DISPOSABLE VALVE SET This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This acquisition will be made in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 “Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and solicitation for commercial Items,” as applicable, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation (a written solicitation will not be issued) and quotes are being requested. The Solicitation number is RFQ-NIAID-2062059 and the solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ). This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2021-03, Effective 02/16/2021. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334516, Analytical laboratory instrument manufacturing, with a small business size standard of 1000 employees. This requirement is NOT set-aside for small business. Background: The mission here at the Vaccine Research Center is to determine the immune correlates of protection against emerging infectious diseases. Vaccine Research Center (VRC) was developed to take research from discovery to human clinical trial efficacy testing. VCMP is the primary manufacturing facility under contract to the VRC. VCMP makes clinical grade product to be used in human clinical trials to determine efficacy. Since the VCMP has manufactured numerous products, using methodologies they have used previously maximizes the chance of successfully making the product and synthesizes the product for minimal cost. VCMP has previously used kSep400 technology to concentrate VRC293 cells, exchange CDM4HEK293 media for Freestyle293 media, and transfecting VRC293 cells. Description and purpose of the Requirement: VCMP uses kSep technology to concentrate and exchange media to transfect cells to make product.
