This acquisition will be made in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 “Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and solicitation for commercial Items,” as applicable, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation (a written solicitation will not be issued) and quotes are being requested. The Solicitation number is RFQ-NIAID-2039389 and the solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ). This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2020-07, Effective 08/31/2020. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 325413, In-Vitro Diagnostic Substance Manufacturing, with a small business size standard size of 1250 employees. This requirement is set-aside for small business. Project Background: The laboratory of Malaria and Vector Research of NIAID is seeking custom Monospecific high-affinity IgG antibody production in rabbits for 15 custom synthesized immunograde peptides from 15 selected proteins of interest. The interaction of Plasmodium sporozoites with the human blood and the mosquito hemolymph and tissues are essential for the parasite to complete development and transmission however, the molecular identity of such interactions is still poorly understood. This project aims to identify interactions of the malaria parasite with the mosquito vector by characterizing the interactome between malaria sporozoite surface proteins, with mosquito saliva proteins. The proteins identified from the parasite and the mosquito, will be evaluated for their role during malaria transmission. Through proteomic analysis, we have identified 15 mosquito proteins with potential relevant role during transmission of the malaria parasite.
