NIH’s Specialized Scientific Information Technology Division intends to award a sole-source purchase order to Harvard Bioscience, Inc. (DBA Data Sciences International) for an integrated telemetry and data acquisition system supporting NIEHS small-animal physiological research. The system must provide implantable telemetry devices that simultaneously collect two biopotential channels, temperature, and activity, with at least four weeks of battery life per implant. It must also use Ponemah software that directly interfaces with proprietary SoHo-X02 telemetry hardware, supports synchronized multi-camera video alongside physiological data, and enables post-acquisition analysis of temperature, CNS, and glucose channels. The vendor must provide a software enhancement/maintenance agreement plus onsite installation and hands-on training. Market research indicates only Data Sciences International/Harvard Bioscience can meet the requirement because the devices and software are proprietary and would not provide the required interoperability if assembled from multiple vendors.
