This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price purchase order to Tecniplast for the expansion of an existing individually ventilated caging (IVC) system for rats at NIH facilities in Bethesda, Maryland. The acquisition includes the procurement, delivery, installation, commissioning, and training for additional Tecniplast-compatible racks, cages, Zephyr Touch air handling units, and related components. Only Tecniplast equipment is technically and operationally compatible with the already-installed pilot system, and the award is expected within 7 days of this notice. Interested parties may submit a capability statement for consideration, but the Government will not compete this requirement unless it determines otherwise. This action is separate from a future full-and-open competitive acquisition for enterprise-wide rat housing replacement.
