Mouse Digital Ventilated Cage (DVC) Individually Ventilated Rack System – Pilot Expansion and Software License
The NIH's Division of Veterinary Resources intends to negotiate a sole-source firm-fixed-price contract with Tecniplast for expansion of its existing Digital Ventilated Cage (DVC) mouse housing system at NIH facilities in Bethesda, Maryland. The acquisition covers additional DVC-compatible racks, cages, air handling units, software licensing, installation, and training to ensure full compatibility with the already-installed pilot system and maintain data continuity. The estimated value is approximately $47 million, and the government plans to award the contract within 7 days of this notice. All deliverables must comply with federal animal care regulations and AAALAC accreditation standards. This action is separate from a future full-and-open competitive acquisition for enterprise-wide mouse housing modernization.
