The NIH Clinical Center’s Nuclear Medicine Division, Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences, intends to issue a purchase order with a not-to-exceed amount of $900,000 for FDA-approved radiopharmaceuticals for patient care. Cardinal Health is identified as the only acceptable supplier due to its comprehensive radiopharmaceutical offerings, FDA/US NRC vetting, and 25-year contracting history. Its patented tungsten delivery system is cited for reducing staff/public radiation exposure and mitigating weightlifting injuries. The acquisition will use FAR Part 13 simplified acquisition procedures, which are exempt from FAR Part 6 competition requirements.
