This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for proposal. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition basis with Bio-Rad AbD Serotec GmbH, Campus Neuried, Anna-Sigmund-Str. 5, 82061, Neuried, Germany, to procure lab testing services for custom monoclonal recombinant antibodies generated through HuCAL technology. The lab will send samples to the vendor, testing against the patented technology, and results will be provided. The purpose of this procurement is for lab testing services. Lab synthesized antibodies will be sent to Bio-Rad, who will generate monoclonal recombinant antibodies through a patented technology, Human Combinatorial Antibody Libraries (HuCAL), a technology which Bio-Rad custom antibody generation service uses for the in vitro generation of highly specific, fully human, recombinant monoclonal antibodies in Fab and full immunoglobulin format. The lab will use these antibodies for in vitro studies including IHC (immunohistochemistry) studies. Our lab will be sending lab-synthesized/lab-developed antigens to the antibody manufacturer. With the antigens, the antibody manufacturer will generate monoclonal recombinant antibodies and send it back to us. These antibodies will be used in our lab for in-vitro studies: CAB11586 - FAB PACKAGE, Antibody selection using a single customer provided antigen QC by specificity ELISA with purified antibodies, Delivery of 500 µI (~100-250 µg) each of all unique ELISA positive, purified Fab antibodies (max. 20), qty 1 CAB11447 - SPECIAL PROJECT, Competition Primary Screen, quantity 1 CAB11447 - SPECIAL PROJECT, Competition QC ELISA (Final QC), quantity 1 CAB11577 - INHIBITION ELISA (with Titration), quantity 1 CAB11447 - SPECIAL PROJECT, Handling of toxins, quantity 1 CAB11631 - FCCATCHER COUPLING MULTIPLE FABS FcCatcher Coupling Multiple - up to 20 Antibodies, -100-250 ug each; (includes Fab production) (for sco), quantity 1 CAB11664 - CATCHER FLUORESCENT FAB, Fluorescent Coupling Catchers max 250 ug, quantity 1 CAB11457 - SHIPPING AND HANDLING (USA), quantity 1 Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. This will be awarded as a firm-fixed price type of contract. Delivery: Immediate, 3 months lead time Delivery location: Service shall be performed at the following location: NIH/NIAID/LCIM, 33 North Drive, Bethesda, MD 20892. The statutory authority for this sole source requirement is 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1 only one responsible source and no other supply of service will satisfy agency requirements.
