Update #1: This NOI has been canceled because it was discovered that there are authorized resellers of Supermicro items. This requirement will be competed on the NITAAC's CIO-CS venue. Acquisition Description: This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for proposal. The National Institute of Health, Clinical Center (NIH-CC) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition basis with Super Micro Computer Inc. National Institute of Health's Clinical Center (Program) currently uses Supermicro AI servers that are ~10 years old. The hardware and software are out of date, is no longer supported by the vendors, and violates existing NIH Security requirements. Thus, Program needs to replace its existing with a new SuperMicro AI server that has SuperMicro DataCenter management software that are made by SuperMicro Computer Inc. This compute server, by SuperMicro, will continue to provide Program’s clinical and research staff with Graphics Processing Units to be used for image processing and machine learning applications in use within the RADIS environment. This particular brand and vendor are well known to Program’s group and will be used to directly replace systems that Program has had in place for years. Justification: This will be conducted as a Sole Source restriction because 1. Program requires this brand of SuperMicro AI servers with SuperMicro software and 2. SuperMicro is the only seller of SuperMicro AI servers and has no resellers. Program requires SuperMicro AI servers with the Supermicro DataCenter Management software because this particular brand of hardware and software is already in use by the lab, so reusing the same brand is required to keep the variables to a minimum and the data consistent. The staff is only familiar with this particular brand of hardware/software and the office wants to avoid retraining. Finally, Program also knows that this brand of items is compatible with Program needs and does not have to test new systems to ensure compatibility. See attached Statement of Work/Bill of Materials for more details. Delivery is estimated to be within four (4) weeks. Place of Performance: NIH campus in Bethesda 10 Center Dr Clinical Center, Bldg 10 Room 1C543 Bethesda, MD 20892 Update #1: This NOI has been canceled because it was discovered that there are authorized resellers of Supermicro items. This requirement will be competed on the NITAAC's CIO-CS venue.
