Provide advisory services to selecting official on best mechanism for recruitment -- Title 42 and appropriate professional designation, Title 38, etc. (this may already be completed by NINR) Prepare packages to establish positions with an identifiable Title 42 designation Prepare search strategy package to include search committee membership and key recruitment resources Layout plan for recruitment, search committee meetings, interviews, etc. Develop journal and vacancy announcements, rating criteria, interview questions and review with selecting official/search committee Schedule and prepare all materials for search committee meetings (i.e., agendas, tracking of potential candidates, etc.) – this usually involves kick-off meeting, 2 check-in meetings, evaluation of candidates meeting and interviews. (ensure HR, EDI, etc. are included) Brief Chair prior to search committee meetings if desired Brief selecting official for initial search kick-off meeting; help to prepare charge to the committee and any reference materials needed – material preparation is covered above Assist Chair with running of search committee meetings Conduct internet searches to identify potential candidates and other recruitment resources (societies, minority organizations, etc.) Conduct outreach activities on behalf of the committee (depends on level of effort) Coordinate with administrative staff placement of journal ads Coordinate with OHR for vacancy announcement placement and timing Work with the NIH Office of Scientific Workforce Diversity to identify minority candidates for consideration Field questions from search committee and potential candidates regarding the position or recruitment process Track progress of the recruitment process to ensure an adequate response to the vacancy Prepare all incoming applications and distribute to search committee for evaluation (depends on number of applications) Receive search evaluations and consolidate in preparation for evaluation meeting Work with the search committee to come to consensus on ratings for each candidate and decisions for interviewing with the committee Prepare interview questions and work with the search committee to finalize
