The Laboratory of Chronic Airways Diseases in the NHLBI Pulmonary Branch is interested in collecting exhaled breath aerosol particles primarily to diagnose mycobacterial lung infections in a non-invasive approach using the PExA instrument. We will also use both microbiological and molecular assays to understand the variability in aerosol production and to understand the pathogenesis of other lung diseases. The supplies requested are necessary for us to conduct studies on a study cohort. The PExA instrument came with supplies for only a few studies.
