Assessment and Accreditation of IRB Animal Program
The National Institutes of Health intends to issue a sole-source, firm-fixed-price order to AAALAC International for the assessment and accreditation of its Bethesda-based animal research program. The requirement includes a comprehensive, five-day site visit by a team of 12 experts to the Bethesda campus every three years, with the next visit scheduled for 2027. The contract will be financed incrementally through annual dues. While this is a notice of intent to award to a specific contractor, the government will consider capability statements from qualified small businesses, though a decision to compete the award is at the government's discretion. An award is anticipated approximately ten days after the notice date.
