This is only a sources sought announcement and not an intent to procure. A solicitation is not available at this time and any requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC), Office of Purchasing and Contracts (OPC) on behalf of the Department of Peri-Operative Medicine (DPM), Clinical Center (CC) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is conducting a market research to identify sources capable and interested in fulfilling a requirement for the procurement to procure Karl Storz digital flexible cystoscopes for the Urology Surgery Surgeons. Specifically these scopes are being requested by Dr. Valera to support patients that need to have cystoscopy surgery. Currently the department has very old technology from as far back as 2008. These scopes have come up on the CERC replacement plan. The department will be upgrading all of its old technology to this new digital technology. This scope helps the surgeon see into the patient’s ureter or bladder when performing cystoscopy surgery and is essential to the success of the procedure. These scopes require a specific camera box. Those boxes are already owned by DPM therefore purchasing any other scope will require the purchase of the camera box as well. In order to maintain standardization and continuity of care it is important that the scopes are purchased from Karl Storz. The responses to this sources sought synopsis will be used to make appropriate acquisition decisions for the next procurement phase. After review of the responses submitted regarding this potential acquisition, a solicitation announcement may be published in Beta/Sam if and when the Government intends to continue with the procurement.
