The NHLBI Light Microscopy Core is in need of software that allows for 4D visualization, processing (including machine learning), and quantification software for large data sets generated from our scientific microscopes. Many of our microscopes now generate very large amounts (over 10gb). The software package must be able to efficiently load these data sets from many types of microscope formats and provide algorithms for segmentation, tracking and machine learning as well as making snapshot tiffs and make movies from complex image stacks. In addition, due to the current requirements of social distancing, the software package must provide a licensing scheme for remote operation. Many NHLBI-Dir labs will use this software with the help of the Light Microscopy Core. The Arivis software uniquely meets our needs of visualization and processing of large data sets. We have no other image processing package that meets all of these needs. Only Arivis AG offers this software package. All other software packages that we have tested either require timely file conversion or are extremely slow in when large data sets are used.
