The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Waters Technologies Corporation to purchase service in the form of a maintenance contract for a Waters Xevo TQD Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer (LCMSMS; Serial # QCA132; CDC barcode 181471). This maintenance agreement is only available from the manufacturer of the system. Waters Corporation will provide the comprehensive Total Assurance Plan (TAP). At the time of protective maintenance, a Waters factory trained engineer will replace all parts subject to wear as defined in the product specific PM checklist. All parts are guaranteed Waters Quality Parts and are included in a comprehensive PM parts kit which is provided for every PM visit. All required corrective maintenance is also included in the Total Assurance Plan. As with PM visits, all parts used in corrective maintenance are guaranteed, factory-tested, Waters Quality Parts. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 8.405-6 and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested parties may identify their interest and submit documentation of their capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responses received within seven (7) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
