The National Institutes of Health requires the annual renewal of one software license for whole-genome sequencing and ad-hoc services. The procurement is planned as a sole-source acquisition from Sentieon, Inc., as their proprietary software is deemed the only known source that can meet the government's specific technical needs. The software must provide a 20–50× increase in processing speed with identical accuracy to the current GATK pipeline to analyze large tumor cohorts. While this is a sole-source notice, the agency will consider capability statements from interested parties, especially small businesses, who believe they can meet the requirement.
