The objective of this acquisition is to address how differences between metal-containing devices and contacting tissues (e.g., mucosal-contacting, endothelial-contacting, etc.) impact the innate and adaptive immune responses. This effort will utilize in vivo models to assess whether innate and adaptive immune responses vary across anatomical locations and with device type/characteristics. With respect to metal-containing implants, the results of this effort could: enable better prediction of tissue-specific adverse reactions post implantation, and provide knowledge needed to potentially mitigate tissue-specific adverse reactions post implantation. See attached RFQ and respond as required.
