The Food and Drug Administration, Kansas City District Laboratory (11510 W 80th St, Lenexa, KS 66214) performs Mycotoxin analyses for domestic and import of human/animal feed. The analyses require labor intensive sample preparation such as grinding, mixing and homogenizing of all types of products. Samples include finished and unfinished products such as corn, grain, shelled or in-shell nuts (i.e. walnuts, pistachios, almonds, and pecans), caramelized candies and etc… Kansas City laboratory is also the only laboratory that performs Fumonisins analysis in the nation. To better protect the public, more samples should be prepared and analyzed. This grinding equipment URSCHEL Comitrol 3600 Slant will be a tremendous help in reducing sample preparation time and more samples will be prepared and analyzed. This new Comitrol 3600 Slant will be replaced our current and broken Comitrol. The only equipment available in the market has capability to grind down hard-nut shells product. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed price purchase order resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered.
