The FDA requires an active subscription service plan for previously purchased emergency satellite communicators. The FDA's Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA) currently has 119 Garmin inReach Explorer+ satellite communicator devices in use in the San Juan, Puerto Rico Laboratory and various other ORA labs across the United States. To provide a safety mechanism for ORA employees, the devices require an active service subscription plan. The purpose of this acquisition is to purchase a service plan for the devices to remain functional during hurricane season and other emergencies.
