Automated Ultrasound-Based, Super Intelligence (SI)-Enabled Fracture Detection
BARDA/HHS seeks sources-sought information, not a contract award, to assess commercially available or near-commercial AI/Super Intelligence-enabled ultrasound technologies for rapid triage and detection of musculoskeletal injuries such as fractures and soft-tissue injuries in emergency, urgent care, field, disaster, and mass-casualty settings. Responses will inform planning for potential acquisition through device purchases, leases, vendor-managed inventory, or arrangements combining device access with maintenance and readiness support. Respondents should demonstrate standalone point-of-care SI/ML ultrasound capability with automated volumetric anatomy display, fracture/bone and soft-tissue assessment, validation against X-ray/CT and human experts, and FDA 510(k)-relevant evidence. BARDA also seeks information on ruggedized portable design, battery/power suitability, EHR interoperability, minimal training burden, off-network operation, clinical/regulatory maturity, scalable U.S. manufacturing and supply-chain resilience, and cybersecurity/PII safeguards for adult and pediatric use. Small and other-than-small businesses may respond with separate Technical and Business Representations, each limited to 10 pages in 12-point Times New Roman.
