NextSeq 1000 has multiple kits and flow cells available that allow sequencing of amplicon and whole genome libraries of varying lengths. Additionally, the NextSeq 1000 is compatible with various library preparation kits from different companies using simple universal adapters. This compatibility allows for cost-reduction in upstream processing. Libraries run on a NextSeq 1000 can also be run on larger or smaller Illumina sequencers. This would allow for sequencing of old projects and the ability to obtain substantially more reads for current projects if needed. With sequencing by synthesis (SBS) and strategically positioned nanowells on flow cells, the NextSeq 1000 can produce highly accurate short reads with minimal error rates.
