The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to VWR International for 60 EA QuantaBio qScript XLT One-Step RT-qPCR ToughMix (P/N: 89236-676). This product a high-quality, ultra-purified, highly-sensitive, and long-term stability enzyme plus buffer ready-to-use master mix for reverse transcription quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) to be used in conjunction with TaqMan Array Cards for the detection of various syndromic microorganisms. The unique requirements of these products include: (i) ultra-purity, (ii) highly-sensitive for detection of very small amounts of microorganism DNA/RNA to avoid false negative PCR results, (iii) highly-specific for detection of over 115 specific microorganism DNA/RNA to avoid false positive PCR results, (iv) X3 ready-to-use system that doesn’t require mixing of enzymes and buffers, and (v) long-term stability of the product through freeze-thaws and storage. Production includes combining reaction buffer containing dATP, dCTP, dGTP, dTTP, magnesium chloride, reverse trancriptase, Rnase inhibitor protein, hot-start DNA polymerase, low ROX reference dye and stabilizers followed by ultra-purification. These products are required for oligonucleotide QC for the production of custom TaqMan Array Cards to be used for molecular testing of clinical specimens at CHAMPS network laboratories. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within four (4) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
