The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) for 70 EA custom PrimeTime Probes. These high-quality, ultra-purified oligonucleotides (synthetic DNA) modified with specific reporter and quencher molecules to be used for the detection of microorganism- specific DNA molecules in clinical specimens using real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology. The unique requirements of these products include: (i) ultra-purity, (ii) large-scale yield of production lot, and (iii) modification with specific fluorescent and non-fluorescent reporter and quencher molecules to enable the precise detection and ensure assay performance characteristics are maintained as demonstrated in required assay validation experiments. Production includes generation of oligonucleotides of 20-40 base pairs in length, attachment of reporter and quencher molecules, and ultra-purification. These products are required to prepare assay mixes for production of custom TaqMan Array Cards to be used for molecular testing of clinical specimens at CHAMPS network laboratories. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within four (4) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
