The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is contemplating issuance of a purchase order pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Part 13.106-1(b) on a sole source basis with Allentown, LLC, 165 Route 526, Allentown, NJ 08501. The purpose of this requirement is to purchase one (1) each Allentown IVC Mouse 112 Cage 75J Rack to replace an existing mouse cage rack that is no longer operational. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 332999 - All Other Miscellaneous Fabricated Metal Product Manufacturing. The required Allentown IVC Mouse 112 Cage 75J Rack is the only rack compatible with the current Allentown cage system. No other known mouse cage racks will properly fit into the current mouse cage rack system. Specifically, the rack must be IVC 112 Cage 75J to include a vent, opposite side plenums 4" Exhaust (Left) & 4" Supply, split platforms, 5" x 2" high temperature phenolic casters, Edstrom cage locks, double face, and have 7 Columns x 8 Tiers. Purchasing a replacement mouse cage rack for the current Allentown, Inc. mouse cage rack system will eliminate the need to purchase an entirely new mouse cage rack system in addition to accessories that would be required for a new mouse cage rack system. Purchasing a new mouse cage rack system would involve additional staff training and additional procedures to accommodate equipment from other manufacturers. Allentown, Inc. is the only known sources capable of providing the required mouse cage rack. The proposed simplified acquisition action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with Allentown, LLC under authority of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Part 13.106-1(b). All responsible sources may provide a statement of capability, which must be received within 15 days after the date of publication notice.
