NIH/NIAMS intends a sole-source firm-fixed-price award to BD Biosciences for a base-plus-two-option-year service agreement on the BD FACSMelody 9-color cell sorter located in Building 50, Bethesda, MD. The agreement covers remedial repairs, one annual preventive maintenance inspection with a kit, unlimited telephone support and service visits, emergency onsite response within two business days, OEM-certified parts and technicians, and software updates. Service is to be provided 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday–Friday, excluding BD holidays, with after-hours work requiring advance approval. The base period is 01/05/2027–01/04/2028, with Option Year 1 from 01/05/2028–01/04/2029 and Option Year 2 from 01/05/2029–01/04/2030. The Government states BD is the only identified source because the service requires OEM-certified technicians, BD parts, and BD software updates, and interested parties may submit capability statements for consideration of whether competitive acquisition is appropriate.
