This is a sources sought notice, not a solicitation, seeking information on the availability of U.S.-manufactured Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) systems that are brand name or equal. PAPRs protect NIH and CDC workers in laboratory, clinical, field, and emergency settings against gases, vapors, and particles, and must meet salient characteristics including NIOSH certification, appropriate filters/cartridges, assigned protection factors, compatible components, and cleanability. Interested vendors must submit a capability statement demonstrating their product's compliance, including country of origin for all components and country of manufacture. Inadequate availability would force cessation of research and other services and increase occupational exposure risks.
