Operation and Maintenance of the Federal Chimpanzee Sanctuary System for Retired Chimpanzees
This is a market research Sources Sought Notice for nonprofit organizations only, with small businesses highly encouraged to respond, to inform a potential future acquisition for operating a federally supported chimpanzee sanctuary. The contractor would provide lifetime care for up to 300 federally owned or supported chimpanzees no longer needed for research, in compliance with federal animal welfare, biosafety, and accreditation requirements. The anticipated contract is a cost-reimbursement agreement with a one-year base period and four one-year option periods. Interested nonprofits must demonstrate capacity and experience in large-scale primate care, staffing, facilities, regulatory compliance, and financial stability, including the ability to meet a 25% non-Federal cost-share requirement. A tailored capability statement of up to 15 pages is requested, but no solicitation is currently being issued.
