NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE (NCI) SMALL BUSINESS INNOVATION RESEARCH (SBIR) INNOVATIVE CONCEPT PHASE I AWARD PROGRAM
The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is seeking small business proposals for Phase I SBIR contracts focused on high-risk, high-reward research and development for pediatric and rare cancers with a 5-year survival rate under 50%. The solicitation covers two topic areas: therapeutic or preventative technologies, and devices, diagnostic technologies, or digital health tools. Proposals must demonstrate sound scientific premise, identify a clinical problem and cancer type, and propose experiments for proof-of-concept and de-risking, though preliminary data is not required. Non-exempt human subjects research will not be supported, and no budget amounts or performance location are specified. Phase I awardees may later apply for Phase II, but only one Phase II award may result from a single Phase I contract.
