This is a presolicitation notice of intent to award a sole-source contract to The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center for the operation of the Chimpanzee Care Center. The contract is to provide lifetime care for approximately 30 to 40 NIH-owned retired chimpanzees that cannot be relocated due to severe health risks. The anticipated period of performance is a twelve-month base period with four one-year option periods. All services must be performed at the contractor's own facility. While the government intends a sole-source award, it will consider capability statements from other responsible sources.
