NIH intends to award a sole-source contract under FAR 6.302-1 to Meso Scale Discovery for a MESO QuickPlex SQ 120MM, because MSD’s proprietary electrochemiluminescence platform is the only system that meets the minimum technical requirements and is compatible only with MSD plates and kits. The instrument is needed by NIH’s Human Biochemical and Genetics Section for sensitive, high-throughput biochemical profiling, multiplex biomarker measurement, experimental validation, and clinical research involving pulmonary fibrosis patients. MSD’s platform offers SULFO-TAG ECL detection, non-fluidic disposable plate-based processing, and rapid multiplex analysis of up to 50 plates per hour. The government anticipates making an award approximately five calendar days after the notice closes, unless another responsible source is found capable.
