Specialized Research Support Services
NIH intends to award a sole-source firm-fixed-price purchase order to KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme for specialized research support to the Kwashiorkor Collaboration Network (KwashNet). The work supports an international genomic study of severe acute malnutrition and includes participant data collection/management, biological sample processing, DNA extraction and quantification from at least 6,000 samples, shipment to NIH, and scientific consultation. Performance relies on the contractor’s existing biorepository, participant records, and research infrastructure in Kilifi, Kenya, along with specialized expertise in kwashiorkor, marasmus, and the relevant Kenyan population. The anticipated award is approximately five calendar days after the notice closing, unless another responsible source is found capable of meeting the requirement. Interested parties may submit capability statements demonstrating their ability to satisfy the technical and operational requirements.
