The National Institutes of Health intends to award a firm-fixed-price purchase order to Coherent Corporation for a 320 nm deep ultraviolet laser to upgrade existing flow cytometers. The laser is needed to enable excitation of deep-ultraviolet fluorescent probes and expand high-dimensional analysis capabilities without purchasing entirely new equipment. It must be compatible with the facility's existing Cytek spectral, LSR II, LSR Fortessa, and Influx cytometers. The government believes Coherent Corporation is the only responsible source due to proprietary design and compatibility requirements, but will consider capability statements from other parties.
