Acquisition of an Agilent-BioTek Multimode Plate Reader
This requirement seeks to acquire a replacement microplate reader for the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases to support biochemical and biophysical analyses. The instrument will measure absorbance, fluorescence, and luminescence in multi-well plates, with temperature control, liquid handling, and automation for high-throughput live-cell assays. It must be compatible with existing laboratory software and provide improved sensitivity and faster read speeds compared to the outdated, unreliable current system. The replacement is critical to ongoing research on metabolism, cellular function, obesity, and diabetes, as the existing unit lacks sensitivity for luminescence assays and is no longer under service contract.
