This contract action is for the acquisition of Services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-l(b). The National Library of Medicine (NLM), Office of Acquisitions (OA) intends to award a single source purchase order to International Health Terminology Standards Development, One Kingdom Street, Paddington Central, London W2 6BD, to obtain the rights to use and distribute the international release of SNOMED CT. SNOMED CT is used as the standard for selected data elements in international genetic information resources, including a Genetic Testing Registry and database of clinically significant human variations under development at NIH. It is also being used in an increasing number of clinical research studies.
