The purpose of this requirement is to acquire 2 x 1 Gbps (Gigabit per second) between the NIH Campus and the Poolesville site. The circuits are necessary because the two current T3 circuits at Poolesv... The purpose of this requirement is to acquire 2 x 1 Gbps (Gigabit per second) between the NIH Campus and the Poolesville site. The circuits are necessary because the two current T3 circuits at Poolesville are consistently maxing out the 45 Mbps capacity, resulting in network traffic congestions and slowness to the users. Upgrading to 2 x 1 Gbps will resolve network congestions and allows the ICs in Poolesville to conduct their work more efficiently and also be able to expand their network capabilities and research.
